Plugin updates

Every release, one by one, newest first. Each entry says what changed and whether you need to do anything after updating.

Latest version

1.9.3

How to update

  1. Take a quick backup of your site, as you would before any plugin update.
  2. When a new version is ready, WordPress shows the usual update notice on the Plugins page. Click Update now.
  3. Prefer to do it by hand? Go to Plugins, Add New Plugin, Upload Plugin, choose the new zip, and confirm when WordPress offers to replace the current version. Your subscribers and settings are kept.
  4. Purge your caching plugin and your CDN, then hard-refresh your site. This one step prevents most “it broke after updating” problems. See Troubleshooting.

Version 1.9.3

Latest

Website links and a clearer path from Free to Premium.

  • NewThe plugin's website address is now built in as its product page.
  • NewFree version: a small panel on the Push Notifications page explains the 200-subscribers-per-send limit and links to the Premium plans. One license covers one website.
  • ImprovedThe About section now links to the documentation, troubleshooting guide, plugin updates, and support contact.

Update notes. Nothing changes in how sending, subscribers, or settings work. Update as usual, then purge your cache.

Version 1.9.2

A small polish release.

  • ImprovedThe “You’re subscribed” tip on the bell is now pinned to its text width and padded slightly, so a theme’s blunt CSS rules can’t stretch it into a tall box.
  • NewLicense and update handling through Freemius. Free and Premium switch cleanly, and all plugin data is removed through the standard uninstall hook.

Update notes. Purge your caching plugin after updating so the new stylesheet loads.

Version 1.9.1

A full production check.

  • CheckedFull production audit, including an independent decrypt of the plugin’s own encrypted notifications and a check of its signing. No functional bugs found.

Version 1.9.0

Built for very large lists.

  • ImprovedClearing dead subscriptions is faster, because it now works by ID instead of scanning the whole table.
  • ImprovedCSV export streams in chunks instead of loading the whole list into memory, which is safer on shared hosting.
  • ImprovedCSV import watches your server’s time limit. If it has to stop, it tells you to upload the same file again, and carries on safely.
  • ImprovedThe dashboard is faster: the weekly growth query uses an index, and the subscriber count is cached for 60 seconds.

Version 1.8.2

Cleanup.

  • ImprovedRemoved two pieces of unused code. Nothing else changed.

Version 1.8.1

Two fixes.

  • FixedAbandoned-cart reminders were silently failing to send.
  • FixedThe note about large lists sending in the background now shows your real batch size.

Update notes. If you use WooCommerce abandoned-cart reminders, this is the update that makes them work.

Version 1.8.0

Hosting-aware sending.

  • NewFive hosting levels: Shared, Business, Cloud, VPS, and Dedicated.
  • NewLive back-off. Each batch checks real memory use and server load, and shrinks and slows down if the server is struggling.
  • NewThe settings page shows what auto-detect found, including CPU count where available.

Version 1.7.0

WooCommerce.

  • NewNew-order, back-in-stock, price-drop, and abandoned-cart notifications. All are off by default.
  • ImprovedClicking the bell opens the popup on the opposite side, and popups use less margin on narrow screens.
  • NewAuto-detect hosting became the default.

Update notes. The WooCommerce triggers stay off until you switch them on.

Version 1.6.0

Design and accessibility.

  • NewThe bell shows blue, green with a check, or grey for the visitor’s state, and updates live.
  • NewStatus messages while subscribing, including a clear one when Incognito silently blocks the prompt.
  • ImprovedKeyboard access with focus kept inside the dialog. The popup now waits for cookie banners (Complianz, CookieYes, Cookie Notice, GDPR Cookie Consent, OneTrust) to clear.
  • FixedThe bell tip ran off the left edge when the bell sat on the left.

Version 1.5.0

Reliability.

  • ImprovedUninstall now removes every option with the plugin’s prefix, so nothing gets missed.
  • ImprovedSubscriptions the browser rotates are renewed correctly.
  • NewA troubleshooting guide.

Version 1.4.3

Dismissals.

  • Improved“Later” is now remembered in a cookie as well as browser storage, so the popup stops reappearing for visitors whose browsers restrict local storage.

Version 1.4.1

No fixed cap.

  • ImprovedPremium no longer has a fixed per-send subscriber limit. Free stays at 200.

Version 1.4.0

Large lists.

  • NewConcurrent sending for large lists, capped per push service, with an automatic fallback on servers without cURL multi.
  • NewA hosting-tuned performance setting.

Version 1.3.0

Security and reliability.

  • SecuritySubscription addresses are validated against real push services before storing and before sending.
  • SecurityA rate limit on the public subscribe route, and spreadsheet formula injection fixed in CSV export.
  • FixedSubscribers being skipped during large sends when dead subscriptions were removed mid-send.
  • FixedThe service worker path was being renamed on save.
  • ImprovedStalled large sends resume on their own, and you get a notice if WP-Cron is off.
  • ImprovedPassword-protected posts are skipped by automatic sends.

Version 1.2.6

Caching fix.

  • FixedCaching plugins could serve a broken copy of the service worker, which stopped subscribers being saved and hid the thank-you popup.
  • NewThe plugin sends no-cache signals for its own files and routes, repairs its route if another plugin drops it, and purges common cache plugins.
  • ImprovedThe subscribe script now checks whether the service worker and the save actually worked, instead of assuming.

Update notes. After this update, purge every cache layer once, including your CDN.
